Who We Are

At Solinsky Hearing Center, we pride ourselves on developing long-term relationships with our patients. We help people of all ages with their hearing health by providing comprehensive services to manage hearing loss, tinnitus, and other hearing disorders through the use of hearing aids.

Michelle Colburn, Au.D., CCC-A

Director of Audiology

Serving: West Hartford

“I consider myself fortunate to have graduated in the inaugural Doctor of Audiology class at one of the US News and World Report’s top Audiology programs. Having had the opportunity to spend an additional 11 years on faculty at the University of Florida allowed me to further refine my skills and learn from leaders in the Audiology field. I look forward to bringing this knowledge and over 15 years of experience to help every patient at Solinsky Hearing Center hear what they’ve been missing.”

Personal Interests

Dr. Colburn and her husband can usually be found at a game or tournament for her two teenage daughters who are very active in different sporting activities. She also enjoys reading, home improvement projects, and spending time with her family and dogs.

Briana Deslauriers, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Serving: Enfield and West Hartford

Dr. Briana Deslauriers earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Science Disorders from Worcester State University. She furthered her education, receiving her Doctorate of Audiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.  During her graduate clinical rotations, Dr. Deslauriers had the experience of working as a student clinician at Solinsky Hearing Center. She now enjoys working as an Audiologist in a busy practice helping patients communicate with more ease.

Dr. Deslauriers believes hearing loss can have a tremendous impact on a person’s daily activities, sometimes causing them to stop doing the things in life that they enjoy. She is able to use her knowledge and clinical experience to improve her patients’ quality of living and reconnect them to the things they once loved. Dr. Deslauriers continues to be excited to be a part of Solinsky Hearing Center and looks forward to continuing the incredibly rewarding experience of helping every patient through their hearing journey starting with their very first steps. 

Personal Interests: Dr. Deslauriers enjoys doing things that help her relax and recharge. She likes spending time with friends and family, whether that means entertaining or just talking and laughing together. She also enjoys being able to get outside, especially during sunset, reading, and traveling. She enjoys a balance of fun, relaxation, and meaningful time with the people around her.

Silvana Tellerico, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Serving: Wallingford and West Hartford

Dr. Silvana Tellerico attended Elms College for her undergraduate studies and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She furthered her education at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, where she received her Doctorate of Audiology in May 2022. During her last year of graduate school, she was the Audiology Extern for the Hearing Research Program at the Medical University of South Carolina.

During her graduate career, Dr. Tellerico had the opportunity of being a student clinician in a variety of settings, including private practice, hospitals, and out-patient clinics. She even had the opportunity of completing her fall rotation as a student clinician at Solinsky Hearing Center under the guidance of Dr. Michelle Colburn. Now, she enjoys how every day is different. She likes having the opportunity to work with and help individuals of all ages.

Personal Interests: Dr. Tellerico enjoys spending time outdoors, being with family and friends, running, and reading.

Megan Geneczko, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Serving: West Hartford, Glastonbury, and Willimantic

Dr. Megan Geneczko earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Science Disorders from Elms College; she then went on to complete her Doctor of Audiology from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. While completing her doctorate degree, she worked as an Audiology Extern at Solinsky Hearing Center.

Dr. Geneczko works primarily with adults doing hearing evaluations, hearing aid consultations, and hearing aid fittings. She chose the field of audiology because she believes communication is a big aspect of our lives. She wanted to help bring people back into the conversation and help them build effective communication with their friends and family. She enjoys working with patients and their families, providing patient-centered care.

Personal Interests: Dr. Geneczko enjoys being with family and friends, traveling, and exploring new places outdoors.

Andrea M. Bates, Au.D.

Doctor of Audiology

Serving: Avon

Dr. Andrea Bates has been practicing audiology for over 20 years. Her clinical background includes pediatric and adult audiology. She has worked extensively with treating hearing loss by fitting hearing aids and counseling patients to set appropriate expectations. Dr. Bates takes her time to guide patients on how to use hearing aids and how they will improve their interpersonal communication. 

Growing up, Dr. Bates’ father and brother were faced with many ear problems and subsequently had hearing loss as a result. Being in a family where hearing was a concern fostered her love for helping those who struggle with their own hearing. Now, Dr. Bates loves fitting new users with hearing aids. She finds it fulfilling providing patients with a better ability to hear and communicate. 

Personal Interests: Dr. Bates is a busy mom of two young children. When she’s not running them to hockey, swim, or gymnastics, she enjoys staying home with her husband, entertaining friends, and cooking. 

Dylan Spears, Au.D., CCC-A

Dylan Spears, Au.D., CCC-A

Doctor of Audiology

Serving: West Hartford, Willimantic, and Glastonbury

Dr. Dylan Spears earned his undergraduate degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders at Florida State University; he then went on to complete his Doctorate of Audiology at Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Spears has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a children’s hospital, ENT clinic, and private practices. He has experience working with patients of all ages performing audiological evaluations, fittings, and recommending hearing devices.

Dr. Spears has a unique perspective on hearing health as he was born with profound hearing loss in his left ear. As a result, he learned about audiology at a young age and knew he wanted to help others who had hearing loss as he did. Now, he enjoys communicating with patients and helping guide them on their hearing journeys.

Personal Interests: Dr. Spears enjoys spending time with his wife, watching movies, reading books, and playing video games.

How We Give Back to Our Community

We believe everyone deserves good hearing health. That’s why we provide hearing services and educational information on hearing loss to assisted living facilities in our communities. We visit various senior centers twice a month to provide hearing services for those who cannot make it to our offices.
