Advanced hearing services for every need.
Our hearing clinic provides hearing tests to West Hartford, East Hartford, Avon, Enfield, Wallingford, Glastonbury, and Willimantic. The purpose of the hearing test is to determine if a hearing loss is present; the cause; degree of hearing loss as well as type; and what the best treatment option will be. During your appointment, we will perform a series of tests, including:
Hearing Aid Fitting
Once we have the results of your hearing test – your audiogram – we can help you find a pair of hearing aids that will assist you in hearing better. We will fit the hearing aids to your unique ear shape so they sit comfortably and securely in/on your ear. Then, we will expertly program the hearing aids to your individual hearing prescription.
Hearing Aid Repair Services
If your hearing aids don’t sound quite right or don’t feel good in your ears, bring them in to be serviced. We can fix most issues in office, so you can get your hearing aids back quickly. If your devices have suffered from more severe damage, they may need to go back to the manufacturer for repairs. We can handle this process for you and we even offer loaner hearing aids that you can use while you wait.
In addition to our repair services, we also offer hearing aid cleanings. To get the most out of your devices, it’s important to bring them in on a regular basis for a deep cleaning. This way we can remove any built-up earwax, dust, or dirt that has become trapped inside the tiny components.
Cochlear Implant Evaluations
Sometimes hearing aids aren’t enough. For severe hearing losses we offer cochlear implant evaluations, which are hearing devices that are surgically implanted to stimulate your cochlea (hearing nerve). We can perform a hearing exam and determine if you could be helped by a cochlear implant. If you are a candidate, we will refer you to a doctor or specialist who can perform the surgery.
Cochlear Implant Programming and Maintenance
After you have surgically received your cochlear implant, we can provide activation and programming to ensure your device is providing you with the right amount of amplification and you can understand the sounds you are hearing. This process may take several weeks as you adjust to hearing again.
To ensure the longevity of your cochlear implant, it’s important to perform regular maintenance on the external parts – the microphone, processor, and transmitter or headpiece. We provide ongoing support and will make regular adjustments as needed.

Do you hear a buzzing, ringing, or whistling sound in your ears? You may have tinnitus. Tinnitus is a common condition that affects millions of people in the U.S. Commonly known as “ringing in the ears,” tinnitus affects everyone differently, and can range from mildly annoying to debilitating.
While there is no one tinnitus treatment that can stop ringing in the ears, there are management options that can help reduce the severity of your symptoms. One option we carry is hearing aids with a tinnitus masking feature. These devices will play soothing sounds in your ears to distract your brain from tinnitus. If you are interested in trying tinnitus hearing aids, contact us to learn more.
Approximately 26 million adults in the U.S. have experienced permanent damage to their hearing as a result of loud noise exposure. From loud music to occupational noise, your ears are sensitive to sounds and require the proper hearing protection. At Solinsky Hearing Center, we can create custom earmolds, earplugs, swim plugs, and in-ear monitors for musicians. Whether you are regularly exposed to loud sounds in your environment, or you plan on being around noise that exceeds 85 decibels, you should wear hearing protection.
